Ketamine Versus Antidepressants

Ketamine IV infusion therapy has been safely administered in hospitals for over 50 years and recently has been used off-label to successfully treat depression, anxiety, and chronic pain. Intravenous infusions of ketamine for severe depression offer you the opportunity to take your life back. We understand how hard finding right anti-depression medication can be for those suffering from depression. The effectiveness of traditional depression medications varies from person to person and what works for one person may not work for another.  Often these anti-depression medications can take weeks or months to take effect. This is why intravenous infusions of ketamine for depression is a highly encouraging practice. People that receive ketamine infusions often feel better within a few hours up to a few days. Ketamine treatments are effective in more than 80% of cases! “The excitement over ketamine among depression researchers and clinicians is clear. They point out that ketamine is the first drug with a new mechanism to treat depression in more than half a century.”

Ketamine is revolutionizing antidepressant research.

“I was familiar with this new form of treatment and I was very curious to learn more. Both Jill and Noemi were very knowledgeable and comforting to walk me the entire way through the series. Noemi has a gift in customizing the treatments. Along with her gifted approach supporting you through this incredible journey! Jill is equally professional and so intuitive that the combined duo was extremely unique. I definitely had revelations that I have not been able to extrapolate in the past. The treatments were like peeling off the “heavy layers” that finally gave me insight to my reasons where my journey has taken me. I have nothing but the highest praise to this program.”

About Ketamine Treatment for Depression

IV Ketamine is highly effective against treatment-resistant depression. Only 30% of people who suffer from depression and anxiety are treatment resistant. If you have tried anti-depressants with little to no improvement ketamine infusion therapy may be right for you. Most anti-depressants are SSRIs. Ketamine has unique properties that allow it to work differently than SSRIs. Used in low dose infusions, it’s proven to have excellent results for people suffering from treatment-resistant depression. Ketamine is being called the “miracle drug” because it is the first major antidepressant breakthrough in three decades. Research over the past 30 years has shown its effectiveness in the management and treatment of depression, anxiety, and chronic pain.

What to Expect In Your First Session

In your free 30-minute consultation, our nurse anesthesiologist will determine the safety and effectiveness of Ketamine Therapy for you. Once approved for ketamine treatment, an individualized treatment plan will be created for you. Ketamine infusion therapy does require a prescription from your psychiatrist or regular provider. We can help guide you in this process.

In your first infusion session, we’ll discuss the process, review your paperwork, and determine if the treatment is safe and appropriate for you.

Once we begin your infusion our nurse anesthesiologist will be present with you throughout your session to monitor your breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure.

We will follow up with you the next day to see how the therapy helped and formulate a plan for your next session.

We recommend you follow up each treatment with your therapist or you can meet with one of our trained Ketamine Psychotherapists. Journalling and mediation are also highly encouraged after your infusions to help integrate the experience and set better habits for future reference and practice.
