Ketamine Versus Antidepressants

Ketamine IV infusion therapy has been safely administered in hospitals for over 50 years and recently has been used off-label to successfully treat depression, anxiety, and chronic pain. Intravenous infusions of ketamine for severe depression offer you the opportunity to take your life back. We understand how hard finding the right anti-depression medication can be for those suffering from depression. The effectiveness of traditional depression medications varies from person to person and what works for one person may not work for another.  Often these anti-depression medications can take weeks or months to take effect. This is why intravenous infusions of ketamine for depression is a highly encouraging practice. People that receive ketamine infusions often feel better within a few hours up to a few days. Ketamine treatments are effective in more than 80% of cases! “The excitement over ketamine among depression researchers and clinicians is clear. They point out that ketamine is the first drug with a new mechanism to treat depression in more than half a century.”
Ketamine is revolutionizing antidepressant research.

Getting Started with Ketamine

"I tried talk therapy for several years, which helped to alleviate my anxiety and depression--but only to a certain extent. Ketamine therapy has been truly transformative. I gained deep insights after only one session and have continued to feel clearer, calmer, and more positive with each infusion. Additionally, both Noemi and Jill have been wonderful to work with. I have felt safe and well cared for throughout my sessions."  -A.M., Aspen Colorado

What to Expect In Your First Session

In your free 30-minute consultation, our nurse anesthesiologist will determine the safety and effectiveness of Ketamine Therapy for you. Once approved for ketamine treatment, an individualized treatment plan will be created for you. Ketamine infusion therapy does require a prescription from your psychiatrist or regular provider. We can help guide you in this process.

1.

In your first infusion session, we’ll discuss the process, review your paperwork, and determine if the treatment is safe and appropriate for you.

2.

Once we begin your infusion our nurse anesthesiologist will be present with you throughout your session to monitor your breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure.

3.

We will follow up with you the next day to see how the therapy helped and formulate a plan for your next session.

4.

We recommend you follow up each treatment with your therapist or you can meet with one of our trained Ketamine Psychotherapists. Journalling and mediation are also highly encouraged after your infusions to help integrate the experience and set better habits for future reference and practice.
